Dash ability, Materials and textures, Dialogue and ghosts (Devlog 8)
New week new devlog lets go!
Ok so this week has just been some general progress, stuff like asset creation, animations, material and texture work, dash ability and some dialogue work. So starting off with the dash, it allows you to dodge some obstacles like oil and fire.
There was some materials we needed to do for the slime npc and his floating objects inside. Not too complicated apart from the slime because transparency is no fun. Heres some of those on the objects:
Ghost Anims. There was some animations made for the ghost so when it moves it has a floaty movement so it looks like its floating in the wind. We could do a animation for the ghost but thats not rlly needed.
Slime material: The slime material is done so the uvs of the slime are split into 3 sections, top, middle and low, and those each have a gradient from dark green to light green. Than for transparency that was done in unreal, but the way it does transpearency makes some more complex meshes look strange with some artifacts. Heres the slime material:
Nuke: The nuke has had a model been made and also a texture: Here's that
Theres also been some dialogue stuff done, but we dont want to spoil that, gotta play for that :)
Annnd thats about it, cya.
