Bit More Of a Chill Week (Devlog 9)


This week was a break week for us at uni, but we didnt get very much done. But, let me talk about what we did get done :). So the main things we did this week was: The falling animation for the rat for the oil spill attack, The dining room area for where the npcs order food, The mushroom bug npc concept, and the start of one of the posters, cool wood material and some sound stuff. 

Dining Area

I'm super happy with how this is turned out even though there's changes that are going to be made to this.  I think having a believable background instead of a black void makes a difference there lol. We're going for a taverny kind of vibe. 




Mushroom bug npc concept

The concept for this npc i thought was really cool, having a dead/dying mushroom being hosted on by a worm. I'll be working on modelling it this week :). Heres the concept:



Falling Animation

So, we looked at all the ghost attacks and the only one that really needs animations is the oil spill. The others could be done with screen shake/red screen effects indicating a loss of a heart. But with the oil spill its more of  a slow down move, so having animation for it would be better. I will work more on this before i submit it to be used because its not too great, It might be a bit jank, but heres the animation so far:

There's been progress on a poster thats going to be used for promotional material/for and maybe for itch/steam. Here's it so far:


Theres also been some sfx and music done, but i feel it would be better to show them when they're implmented into the game, or when we make more marketing material.
