New Level and plates (Devlog 4)
This week we've been working on making new assets (Or the same with different textures) for a different level. We've been going for a run-down/dirty version for the first level so the environment can reflect the player cleaning up/upgrading the kitchen.
Heres an example of what the first level may look like (May change through the development of course):
Here is a new grill that has been made.
Plates! Plates have been added so the food can be prepared and than placed on a plate. Plates can be placed down on a tile that allows it, the counter tiles and the serving desk. This will also make the character have a visual plate to hold which i think is needed as a player to see what your doing. Only some dishes use plates, but this plate system will make it easy to make a bowl system as it would be the same premise with slight functionality differences. We may also do some dish cleaning systems later so you may have to keep track and clean plates but that may or may not be implemented depending on development. Here are some progress pictures of the plates and a dish on a plate :).
Also the rat character animations and rigging has been completed and will soon be implemented. Its taken a while as some of you may know if you've tried rigging before, but weight painting can be a #@!* . This'll make our character actually look like a living and real being, but yeah. Will be showing those animations here when theyre implemented into the game. Also will be working on the Mothman npc after that's done, but that wont be tricky as the model is done fully it just needs to be uv unwrapped and textured.
